Dayton SCORE Workshops

Dayton SCORE offers a variety of free and fee-based business courses to meet your current situation and greatest business challenges. The core of these workshops is a universal curriculum based on the SCORE BusinessWorx universal planning model which will also provide a foundation for consistent counseling services and common counseling resources. We recommend the following three step process to help structure the most beneficial educational experience for your needs.

Workshop Description: Present an overview of web-based marketing and determine which elements are appropriate for your business.

Orientation Workshop Information

Hands on Web Marketing Workshop Series (FEE)

Target Audience: This two-part workshop series was design for those individuals that have completed the "Want to Harness the Internet to Increase Business?" workshop and want to accomplish some hands-on website development using WordPress. Also, this series includes incorporating Social Media and Search Engine Optimization in your newly developed website.

Based on the web marketing assessment workshop, you then may decide to sign up for one or both of the following two PAID tracks that will provide the greatest benefit to your business in developing an effective web marketing strategy.

The cost for both tracks is $140.00, or you can attending either track for the fee specified for that track. For additional information call the Dayton SCORE office 937-225-2887.


Track #1 ($65 FEE)

This track is designed for you to prepare and produce a hosted 2-3 page website using a WordPress template according to professional design standards and with a look that will attract your targeted customers.

Track #1 Workshop Information
  • Step 2: A written plan and checklist to use for getting a domain name, host, and building your website.
  • Step 3: Build a three-page website using a WordPress template.


Track #2 ($75 FEE)

This track will produce business pages on social media with a similar look to your website, drive traffic to your website with search engine optimization, and measure the results using a monthly dashboard automatically produced by Google Analytics. You will also learn effective topics and methods to attract customers.

Key Audience Benefits: The attendee will understand the role of marketing and how it can be used with other aspects of the business to improve the financial health of the business and improve the image and quality of the business. Key methods for knowing how to evaluate your competition and being able to out maneuver them by meeting or exceeding customer needs and expectations will be explained.

How to record the basic transactions that any business encounters; (money coming in, money going out, money owed to the business / AR, money the business owes AP). Learn how to create and understand balance sheet, income statement, and cash flow statements.
